Press Type Matters
You’ll get the most consistent results from a real clamshell or swing-away heat press. Cricut-style presses and household irons can work, but may need extra testing to find the right pressure and heat.
Fabric Compatibility
DTF works great on cotton, polyester, blends, fleece, and most smooth fabrics.
Avoid loose knits, thick textures, terry cloth, or fabrics with heavy waterproofing — adhesion can vary.
Use the Tester Transfer First
Every press heats differently. Use the included tester before pressing your real design to dial in temp, time, and pressure.
Storage Tips for Transfers
Keep unused transfers flat, cool, and dry. Avoid humidity, heat, and bending the film. Store them sealed until use.
Don’t Pre-Wash Garments
Fresh fabric fibers bond better than pre-washed ones. No need to wash the shirt before pressing.
Avoid Harsh Additives
Do not use bleach, fabric softener, or oxygen-based boosters (like OxiClean). These can shorten print life.
Do Not Iron Directly on the Print
If ironing is needed, always cover with parchment or a cloth.
Make Sure the Garment Is Dry
Do not press on damp garments or fresh-out-of-the-dryer steamed fabric — moisture weakens adhesion.
• Edges lifting: Stop peeling → lay film down → re-press → cool → peel again
• Patchy spots: Pressure too light or heat inconsistent
• Powdery feel: Needs finishing press 5–8 seconds
• Cracking: Too hot in dryer or uneven pressure
• Not sticking at all: Fabric damp, pressure off, or transfer not fully flat
• Press too hot: Letters look shiny or smashed — lower heat slightly
• Press too light: Parts look dull or fuzzy — increase pressure slightly
